Columbus 6-4 Losers to Barons
|
Though he had a stellar game, Duke Mullanix could not prevent his team, the Columbus Clippers, from losing, 6-4, to the Wilkes-Barre Barons. Mullanix went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. Picking up his 1st save was 32-year old left-handed pitcher Rusty Tucker. The win gives Wilkes-Barre a record of 4-3.
In the top of the fourth, Wilkes-Barre left fielder Cavonté Merlin had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, Merlin stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 4-2, Wilkes-Barre. For the game, he was 1 for 5.
Wilkes-Barre manager called it "a darn good win."
