Stripers Reel In 5-2 Win
|
The Gwinnett Stripers got a stellar effort from pitcher Isaac Allaire, helping Gwinnett score a win over the visiting Buffalo Bisons, 5-2. The winner was Allaire. He threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Tom Holshouser. The win leaves Gwinnett with a record of 4-3.
Gwinnett took a 4-1 lead on Kevin Phillips's 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Phillips hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Buffalo pitcher Alejandro Grajeda visibly frustrated.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Phillips after the game.
