Stripers Get 6-2 Win Versus Newark
|
Gwinnett picked up a win at Coolray Field, bumping off the Newark Bears, 6-2. Pitcher Matthew Reedy was a major reason the Stripers emerged victorious. Jake Scumaci earned the save, his 1st, for the Stripers. The loss puts Newark at 1-1.
The Stripers got a big at-bat from first baseman Jeuyson Palomino. For the game, Palomino was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Gwinnett a 3-0 lead.
"We had a nice day," said Gwinnett skipper Billy Everhart.
