Texas turned a good performance from starting pitcher Todd Smith into a 5-2 triumph over the London Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Levi Lambright notched his 7th save of the season. The Rangers go to 51-86, putting them last in the National League Rivera Division.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Hugo Santos? The Texas left fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Rangers on top, 1-0. For the game, Santos had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
