The exploits of designated hitter Benton Kiser, who led the AL in on-base percentage with .467 last year, helped the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the Vancouver Cascades, 3-2. Kiser was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Greyson Tadic snagged the win in relief. He goes to 5-2 on the season. Derek Gwinnup suffered the loss. The 78-58 Dodgers lead the American League Pons Division by one game.

Stanley Gamble, who finished 5th in the AL in home runs with 42 in 2058, helped out the Los Angeles cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the left fielder was 2-4 with 2 doubles.
