Buccaneers Handle Flagstaff, Snag 4-3 Win
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Boca Raton Buccaneers and Flagstaff Blue Devils.
The Boca Raton Buccaneers turned back the Flagstaff Blue Devils, 4-3, at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Brandon Lalonde, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win was credited to James Guarino in relief. His record improves to 4-3. C.J. Gipe took the loss.
Lalonde had a timely hit for Boca Raton in the top of the seventh. With Boca Raton trailing 2-0, he turned a 0-2 changeup into a grand slam home run. It was his 18th home run of the season, making it 4-2, Boca Raton.
Lalonde told the Boca Raton News: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
The win makes Boca Raton 27-35.
