Aqua Sox Suffer 6-1 Loss to Sun Dogs
|
The 6-1 Miramar win over Pompano Beach was due in large part to Nicol Cook. The Sun Dogs catcher went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. Miramar pitcher Justice Liang got the win. He's now 1-1. Gerard Aguilar was tagged with the loss. The Sun Dogs upped their record to 40-12.
Noel Richard had a big 3-run home run for the Sun Dogs in the bottom of the first inning. With Miramar leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Gerard Aguilar and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Sun Dogs on top, 4-0.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Cook.
