Drooping Gales Lose 6th Straight
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Boca Raton Buccaneers and Hialeah Gales.
The Hialeah Gales got a superb performance from pitcher Eugene Turner, but the Boca Raton Buccaneers still won the game, 4-3. Turner threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Ryan Chatman closed the game out for Boca Raton, earning his 11th save.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the ninth, with the game tied, Eli Creech was at the plate when Boca Raton scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Buccaneers to go in front, 4-3.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Creech. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
The slumping Gales have dropped 6 in a row.
