West Palm Beach Triumphs with Late Surge
|
Led by Anthony Elrod, the West Palm Beach Dolphins downed the Pompano Beach Aqua Sox, 5-3. Elrod went 1 for 2 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Dolphins. Brantley Schmidt earned the save, his 1st, for the Dolphins. West Palm Beach is 7th in the Florida Rookie League Northwest Division with a record of 18-32.
Elrod had a timely hit for West Palm Beach in the bottom of the eighth. With West Palm Beach trailing 3-1, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 5-3, West Palm Beach.
