The Hialeah Gales got a sterling performance from pitcher Luke Bullock, but the Gilbert Geckos still prevailed, 3-1. Bullock threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Gilbert reliever Donny de Groot picked up the win, upping his record to 2-5. Luke Bullock was saddled with the loss. Tim Wright got the save, the 1st for him this season.

The outcome hung in the balance with no one down in the top of the eighth. With the bases empty and Hialeah trailing 2-1, Calvin Hope flied out. It was a big out for Gilbert pitcher Sebastian Bricka.
