Dolphins Thwart Gales, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring affair between West Palm Beach Dolphins and the Hialeah Gales, pitcher Wayne Pressey was the difference-maker. The West Palm Beach right-hander handcuffed the opposition, to help his team pocket a 3-1 win. Pressey, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up no walks. Cayden Craig closed the game out for West Palm Beach, earning his 8th save.
The Dolphins got a big at-bat from center fielder Yunier Fonseca. For the game, Fonseca went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave West Palm Beach a 3-1 lead.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Pressey.
The win boosts the Dolphins to 19-25. The loss puts the Gales at 29-15.
