Losing Streak Continues for Hurricanes with 7-1 Loss to Hammerheads
The home crowd came to cheer on their first-place Cape Coral Hammerheads.

Cape Coral pitcher Hudson Mahfouz did his part in helping his team beat the Daytona Beach Hurricanes, 7-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 6.1 innings, Mahfouz surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run.

Rafi Martínez had a big bases-clearing triple for the Hammerheads in the bottom of the second inning. With Cape Coral leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Kent Beaupré and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hammerheads ahead, 4-0.

"When you're winning, you walk a little taller," said Hammerheads manager Cory Moore.

Now 13-32, Daytona Beach has dropped 12 straight.
