Threshers Deal Catch 11-5 Defeat
|
Spirited fans greeted the Oviedo Catch for their clash with the Clearwater Threshers.
The Clearwater Threshers defeated the Oviedo Catch by the score of 11-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Jeremy Porterfield. Porterfield went 2-6 with a home run, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for the Threshers on the day. Yes, it was a win for Clearwater; but their 10-30 mark is nothing to crow about.
Jon Larson was one of the major contributors to the win for Clearwater. The light-hitting designated hitter stroked a triple to left in the top of the fifth inning. For the day, he went 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Threshers manager Ted Williams. "This one was nice to get."
