Boca Raton Loses Again, 8-4
|
The Boca Raton Buccaneers got a sterling performance from pitcher Neal Dunlap, but the Miramar Sun Dogs still prevailed, 8-4. Dunlap came in in relief and pitched to 21 batters. By defeating Boca Raton, the first-place Sun Dogs improved to 33-9.
Donald Fleming had a big 3-run home run for the Sun Dogs in the top of the first inning. With Miramar leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Arwin Cardinal and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sun Dogs ahead, 6-0.
"In this profession, you've got to put the good and the bad behind you quickly," Boca Raton skipper Mike Goldstein said.
