The Houston Astros got a superb performance from pitcher Layne Thrower, but the London Royals still won the game, 6-5. Thrower threw 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball. Aarón Pérez sewed up the save, his 3rd. The triumph puts London at 18-17 for the season.

The Royals beat the Astros in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Antony Olguin produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Hunter Fahey, Olguin gave his team the lead, 6-5, when he hit a 3-run home run.

"That's what I love about baseball," said Olguin. "No matter how good or how bad you did, you get to wake up the next day and start all over."
