Thanks in large part to right fielder Simon Taylor, the Pompano Beach Aqua Sox beat the West Palm Beach Dolphins, 5-2. Taylor was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Zach Read, the winning pitcher, is now 1-1. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 3. Jorge Cobos locked down his 10th save.

With Pompano Beach leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Taylor hit a sinker from Dom Bussom for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Aqua Sox ahead, 4-0.

"We're trying to go out there and win games," Taylor told the Pompano Beach Gazette, "and we played pretty well tonight."

Pompano Beach, at 19-19, sits in 7th place in the Florida Rookie League Southeast Division.
