At The Sparrow's Nest, the Portland Hops and Virginia Black Bears were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Virginia Black Bears beat the Portland Hops, 11-4, at The Sparrow's Nest. Sidney Wilson went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The former first round draft pick was a menace to Portland all day. Ryder Behr got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits in 5.1 innings.

Nathaniel Young contributed to the Virginia win with a 2-run single in the bottom of the second. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.
