Buccaneers Rack Up 6-4 Win Versus Clearwater

Rene Mendoza was a major factor in the 6-4 Boca Raton win over Clearwater. The Buccaneers left fielder was 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jeffrey Appleton got credit for the save for Boca Raton. It was his 6th of the year. The 5th-place Buccaneers now sit at 14-18.
With Boca Raton leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Mendoza hit a fastball from Dave Comstock for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Buccaneers ahead, 4-0.
"Whenever you can come through for your ball club, it's a great thing," said Mendoza.
