The Fort Lauderdale Pirates got a stellar effort from pitcher Luke Mohler, helping Fort Lauderdale score a win over the visiting Hialeah Gales, 4-2. The 8th-place Pirates go to 15-16.
Ollie Steffler dealt the Gales a blow in the bottom of the seventh. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Fort Lauderdale leading 1-0, Steffler hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Mohler.
