Buccaneers Procure 6-1 Victory
|
The Boca Raton Buccaneers picked up a win at Hammond Stadium, knocking off the Gainesville Hogs, 6-1. Starting pitcher Dallas Thompson played a key role in the triumph. The Buccaneers, at 12-15, inhabit 7th place in the Florida Rookie League Southeast Division.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Patrick Ayoub? The Boca Raton catcher had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Buccaneers on top, 2-1. For the game, Ayoub had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
Said Gainesville manager Eric Koczera: "They just got the better of us."
