Spoonbills Score Late to Win, 5-2
|
Hollywood defeated Kissimmee, 5-2, in large part due to 20-year old third baseman Luke Cassell. Cassell drove in 4 runs. The first baseman had 1 double and 1 home run for the Spoonbills. Chip Hadlock was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Otis Lefebvre. The Spoonbills improved to 12-12.
Hollywood took a 5-2 lead on Cassell's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Otis Lefebvre in the bottom of the eighth, propelled Hollywood to the win.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Cassell told a Hollywood Today reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
