Kumquats Win in Glorious Fashion, 8-7
|
The Kissimmee Kumquats overcame a pretty good performance by Pembroke Pines second baseman Crispin Kilduff, beating the Herons, 8-7, at Bright House Field. Kilduff was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kissimmee reliever R.C. Conway picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Luca Hudnell took the loss. The win makes Kissimmee 12-14.
The decisive blow was delivered by Mark Gillin in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Luca Hudnell to win the game for Kissimmee. The home crowd went nuts.
"This place was rockin'," Gillin said.
