Jaquez Propels Buckeye Offense in 11-1 Rout
|
The 11-1 Buckeye win over Florence was due in large part to Alphonso Jaquez. The Quahogs second baseman was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Buckeye is now 17-31, Florence 27-21.
In the bottom of the first, Buckeye first baseman Cannon Kasperski had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Kasperski stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, Buckeye. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
"It's always extra special to win at home," said Kasperski.
