Pompano Beach Topples Buckeye, 4-3
|
The Pompano Beach Aqua Sox beat the Buckeye Quahogs, 4-3, in part because of designated hitter Bryant Canessa. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. The winner in relief was Vincente Sánchez. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. Pompano Beach is now 22-24, Buckeye 16-31.
Dustin Jackson had a big hit for Pompano Beach in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Pompano Beach leading 3-0, Jackson hit a run-scoring double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Aqua Sox up, 4-0.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Jackson.
