Cook reaches base 4 times, Sun Dogs Move to 18-4
|
The Miramar Sun Dogs defeated the West Palm Beach Dolphins, 5-0, in part because of catcher Nicol Cook. Cook went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Sun Dogs. Jorge Cadena picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Jeb Dollarhide suffered the loss. Getting the save was Dom Ford, his 4th.
With Miramar leading 1-0 in the top of the ninth, Cook hit a fastball from Christian Duran for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Sun Dogs ahead, 5-0.
Cook called the win "just what the doctor ordered."
The Sun Dogs boast a remarkable 18-4 record.
