Hammerheads Defeat Sun Dogs, 3-2
|
The Cape Coral Hammerheads and Miramar Sun Dogs played an exciting game.
With left fielder Thomas Green leading the charge, the Cape Coral Hammerheads defeated the Miramar Sun Dogs, 3-2, at Joker Marchant Stadium. Green went 1-2 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Romy Jones came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-2.
Green had a timely hit for Cape Coral in the bottom of the seventh. With Miramar trailing 2-1, he turned a full count fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 3-2, Cape Coral.
"It was a solid team effort," said Green after the game.
Cape Coral is in 4th place in the Florida Rookie League Northwest Division with a record of 23-22.
