The Glendale Gauchos cruised to a win over the Tempe Impalas, 12-4, at Peoria Sports Complex. Logan Patten led the way, going 2-for-4 for Glendale. Rhino Robinson, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 8. His record now stands at 6-1. The 5th-place Gauchos improved to 23-22.

The Gauchos got a big hit from center fielder Kenny Mathis. In the top of the seventh, Mathis pounded a grand slam home run to right. His 6th home run of the season put the Gauchos ahead, 12-4.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Mathis said after the game.
