The Clearwater Threshers managed to get by the Pompano Beach Aqua Sox, 2-1, at Champion Stadium. Clearwater pitcher Roger Giles set himself apart with his performance. Giles got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Ben Moratay closed it out for his 3rd save.
