The Yuma Gnomes withstood an impressive performance by Peoria left fielder Tony Decos to defeat the Pride, 5-4, at Camelback Ranch. Decos was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner in relief was Brad Nipper. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 3-0. The Gnomes now have a mark of 20-25.

Yuma needed the clutch hitting of Anto Dias to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Gnomes on top, 5-4. For the game, Dias had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Dias said.
