Díaz Helps Armadillos Beat Gauchos, 6-5
The Phoenix Armadillos topped the Glendale Gauchos, 6-5, with youngster J P. Díaz playing a key role. Díaz went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Armadillos in the win. Phoenix, at 28-16, holds down second place in the Arizona Rookie League North Division.

With Phoenix trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Díaz hit a changeup from Kermit Sherman for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Armadillos ahead, 5-4.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Díaz.
