Rain could not dampen the pregame excitement of Fort Myers fans. But the subsequent loss, and a disappointing one at that, to the Dolphins had to.

West Palm Beach right fielder Alexis Salazar played a vital role in his team's 12-1 conquest of Fort Myers. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for West Palm Beach. Noah Halliburton earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 5.2 innings. His record is now 2-0.

West Palm Beach designated hitter Bolan Parham helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Benjamino Parez. "But it's got to translate into wins."
