The Pembroke Pines Herons overcame a good performance by Sanibel shortstop Ramiro Boyer to knock off Sanibel, 6-5, at Charlotte Sports Park. Boyer was 1-2 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Sanibel drops to 6-5.

Had Andrew Alvey not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Alvey hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Herons.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Alvey said after the game.
