Kumquats Take Tight Tangle
|
The Kissimmee-Hialeah game took longer to complete because of the rain. But it was worth it for the home team in the end.
The Kissimmee Kumquats found a way to sneak past the Hialeah Gales, 6-5, in 10 innings. Kissimmee pitcher Kent Loftin, for one, had a standout performance. Kissimmee pitcher Otis Lefebvre got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Matthew Crandall got the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Kissimmee right fielder Vinnie Koch, facing Matthew Crandall, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Kumquats the 6-5 win.
"That was a really good outing by Kent," said Kissimmee manager Max Côté.
Kissimmee is now 4-3.
