The Glendale Gauchos downed the Scottsdale Salamanders, 6-3, at Hohokam Park. The Gauchos were led by Karim Barnes. He went 1 for 1 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The loss makes Scottsdale 17-23.

Glendale used a clutch hit from Beckett Bellantoni to get the win. The shortstop drilled a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Gauchos ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"We played hard and won," said Barnes. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
