Cleveland beat Montreal at Tecumseh Field, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to left fielder Antony Olguin. He went 2-2 with a home run and a walk. Max Gilchrist picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Zach Strain was tagged with the loss. Cleveland is now 17-16, Montreal 16-17.

Chia-Wei Ni helped the cause in the bottom of the eighth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. His at-bat contributed to the Cleveland win.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Montreal skipper Dirk Botelho, "and it cost us."
