Roughnecks shortstop Yoakim Cortez left his imprint on his team's 8-6 win over the Bullhead City Catfish. Cortez went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 for Ahwatukee in the contest. Hidalgo Almaguer snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-1 on the season. Mason Elkins suffered the loss. The win makes Ahwatukee 29-40.

Ahwatukee used a clutch at-bat from Harold Gonzalez to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Roughnecks ahead, 7-6. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Gonzalez.
