Herons Topple Gauchos, 6-1
|
Pembroke Pines picked up a win at Charlotte Sports Park, bumping off the Glendale Gauchos, 6-1. Pitcher Martin Novack was a major reason the Herons emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Novack, now 1-1. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 10. Pembroke Pines, at 13-21, sits in last place in the Florida Rookie League Southeast Division.
Pembroke Pines right fielder Erisbel Palaguachi contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a curveball into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 18th hit of the season and put the Herons ahead, 3-1.
"I was the aggressor," said Novack. "No doubt about it."
