At Sloan Park, the Sedona Steers and Yuma Gnomes were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Yuma Gnomes defeated the Sedona Steers, 13-7, at Sloan Park. Yuma was led by 20-year old left fielder Bevon Troutt, who went 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Yuma reliever Kyle Strader picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. J.R. Vong took the loss.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Roberto Peralta came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Sedona pitcher J.R. Vong, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Yuma on top, 8-7.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Peralta told the Yuma Daily News. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."

The 7th-place Gnomes sport a record of 31-39.
