The Florence Swordfish picked up a win at Goodyear Ballpark, knocking off the Tempe Impalas, 5-2. On the mound for Florence was right-hander Cary Velazquez. He played a key role in the triumph. Foster Rivas stitched up the save, his 3rd. With the victory, the Swordfish upped their record to 33-31.
Humphrey Robbin took Tempe hurler Monico Espinal deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Swordfish on top, 2-0. In all, Robbin had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Florence manager Victor Acosta praised his team's "energy."
