The Gilbert Geckos downed the Sierra Vista Hummingbirds, 5-3. The hitting star was center fielder Yiemi Sandobal. Sandobal went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Geckos. The winner in relief was Kendell De Leria. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Gilbert took a 5-0 lead on Sandobal's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Rob Frank in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Gilbert to the win.
