Florence turned a good effort from starter Granville Henn into a win over the Sierra Vista Hummingbirds at Surprise Stadium. The final score was 4-2. Florence occupies 7th place in the Arizona Rookie League South Division at 28-37.
Stan Morton came through with a big-time hit for Florence. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Morton called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
