Gnomes Get One-Run Win at Tempe
Good production from right fielder Bevon Troutt helped the Yuma Gnomes topple the Tempe Impalas, 6-5. Troutt was 4-5 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI for the Gnomes. Yuma reliever Noah Schneider picked up the win to move to 1-0. Seth Nix suffered the loss. The save went to Marty Wagner, his 8th this season.

Yuma designated hitter Justin Kalika contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the eighth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 64th hit of the season and put the Gnomes ahead, 5-3.

"Things will change for us," said Tempe manager Aaron Lambert. "When things change, we'll get clicking."

Tempe is in the throes of a losing streak which has reached 9 games.
