Gauchos Eke Out 5-4 Win Versus Ahwatukee
|
The Glendale Gauchos nipped the Ahwatukee Roughnecks, 5-4, at Maryvale Baseball Park. Glendale pitcher Andy Brucia, in particular, starred. Brucia yielded 4 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-5. Florencio Cabanes wrapped it up, recording his 6th save.
The Gauchos got a big at-bat from shortstop Myron Tolan. For the game, Tolan was 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Glendale a 5-4 lead.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Tolan.
Glendale is now 32-17. Ahwatukee is 30-19.
