Geckos Defeat Quahogs, 4-3
|
Gilbert Geckos starter Valentín Arian took the mound against the Buckeye Quahogs at Surprise Stadium; and, when all was said and done, the right-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 4-3 win. Gilbert pitcher Triston Henschel got the win. He's now 1-0. Rufo Terrazas was tagged with the loss. The second-place Geckos now have a record of 29-21.
Yunior Hidalgo, who is tied for 4th in the AZL in bases on balls with 18, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hidalgo contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Gilbert up, 4-3.
In postgame remarks, Hidalgo simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
