Navarrete Socks Ranchers in 7-3 Quahogs Win
|
The Buckeye Quahogs finished off the Chandler Ranchers, 7-3. Much of the credit belonged to shortstop Yudiel Navarrete. Navarrete hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 5 for the Quahogs. Leonardo Rios picked up the save, his 1st. Even with the win, the Quahogs have a dismal 6-43 record.
In the bottom of the sixth, Ramon Serrano delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Buckeye right fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Quahogs in front, 7-3.
"I know we have our doubters," said Chandler manager Derick Fernandez. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
