Sedona pitcher David Saldana did his part in helping his team defeat the Tempe Impalas, 4-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Saldana, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Marty Gilman Jr. closed the game out for Sedona, earning his 9th save.
Dudley Dugger chipped in a solo home run for Sedona in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
