The Glendale Gauchos did just enough to sneak past the Pompano Beach Aqua Sox, 4-3, at Champion Stadium. Glendale pitcher Kolton Fletcher, in particular, had a standout performance. The save was credited to Mervin Midyett, his 1st. Glendale is now 13-11, while Pompano Beach is 10-13.

Glendale relied on the bat of Doug Engles to get the win. The second baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Gauchos ahead, 4-3. For the game, Engles had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Fletcher told the Glendale Observer.
