Dolphins Beat Swordfish, 4-1
|
West Palm Beach Dolphins starter Wesley Connell turned in an exceptional performance against the Florence Swordfish at Tradition Field, resulting in a West Palm Beach win, 4-1. The winning pitcher was Connell, now 2-1. He tossed 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Picking up the save was Wade Redmond, his 2nd.
The Dolphins got an important contribution from center fielder David Kerr, who in the bottom of the fifth hit a first pitch fastball into right-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Dolphins ahead, 4-0.
Kerr said his team "played with determination."
The win gives West Palm Beach a season record of 15-9.
