Starting pitcher Rodney Porter gave the Florence Swordfish a rock-solid effort. The Garden Grove, California native helped his team defeat the Buckeye Quahogs, 3-0, at Goodyear Ballpark. The win was credited to Jace Vincent in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ethan Carson took the loss. The 8th-place Quahogs now sit at 20-26.

The Swordfish got a big at-bat from catcher Riley Raley. For the game, Raley was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Florence a 3-0 lead.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Raley told the Florence Gazette.
