Quahogs Pick Up 4-2 Win Against Florence
|
The Buckeye Quahogs picked up a win at Goodyear Ballpark, taking down the Florence Swordfish, 4-2. Starting pitcher Wes Dempsey was a big reason why. Dempsey picked up the win for Buckeye, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 4-4. The save went to Ash White, number 10 for him.
Teagan Brittingham came through with a big-time hit for Buckeye. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Wes's a gamer," said Buckeye manager Justin Ellis. "Glad he's on our side."
Buckeye currently is in 6th place in the Arizona Rookie League South Division at 20-24.
