The Sedona Steers picked up a win at Sloan Park, knocking off the Sierra Vista Hummingbirds, 3-2. On the mound for Sedona was left-hander Camille Staples. He played a key role in the triumph. Staples, the winner, moves to 5-0. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Edgardo Ortega picked up his 3rd save of the season.

Nicodemo Zelaya drove in one run for Sedona. The 18-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Stanislav Nickel. It was his 21st RBI of the season.

"Not enough offensively in a winnable game," said losing manager Simon Cocuzza.

Sedona is now 26-17, Sierra Vista 17-26.
