In the 5-4 Gilbert win over West Palm Beach, the impact of Hollis Freeman was substantial. Freeman, who is tied for 4th in the AZL in bases on balls with 12, went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. Donny de Groot picked up the save, his 4th. The Geckos raised their record to 10-12.

Freeman had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Geckos went on to win.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said West Palm Beach manager Juan Almodovar. "But we decided not to take it."
