The Gilbert Geckos sent the home crowd home ecstatic.

The performance of Noah Gross proved critical in helping Gilbert beat Surprise, 5-1. The Geckos right fielder went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Gilbert reliever Lark Enger was the winner. His record is now 5-1. The losing pitcher was Javier Vazquez.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Gross hit a fastball from Javier Vazquez for a grand slam home run. The Geckos, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Gross said.

The second-place Geckos now have a record of 26-18.
