Blue Devils Fall to Saguaros, 5-2
|
The Mesa Saguaros got a rain-soaked win over the Flagstaff Blue Devils.
Mesa starter Dominic Keller pitched well against the Flagstaff Blue Devils at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Keller yielded no runs over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 6-2.
Mesa designated hitter Roger Brie contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 40th hit of the season and put the Saguaros ahead, 2-0.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Brie. "The only team that can beat us is us."
The third-place Saguaros now sit at 27-19.
